Welcome to Gord Hunter's Site
Welcome to my website, with information regarding the Knoxdale-Merivale Ward in the City of Ottawa.
These pages are very much "works in progress". Our goal is to provide the visitor with a web map that will lead you to information about the City, its services and upcoming events. We also provide a way for ward residents to contact their community associations and to learn about what is happening in their area. I trust you will find the information you are seeking. If you don't please contact us with your suggestions for making these pages more useful to you.
The Knoxdale-Merivale Ward office is located on the second floor of Ottawa City Hall, at Laurier Avenue and Elgin Street.
Lynda Moore is the Office Manager. Lynda has worked with me since 1989. She came from a background of working with the federal government on conference services. Lynda has become very knowledgeable in the municipal field and is the only councillor's assistant in Ottawa to become certified and a member with the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks & Treasurers of Ontario. That means she knows her way around City Hall. She has a great ability to get to the right person and find the right answer for a ward resident's concern.
Ruth Hartanto joined us on a part time basis in 2002. She came highly recommended for her work with two former councillors. Before joining the municipal world, Ruth worked in the communications field. Her primary responsibility in the ward office is handling electronic communications, press announcements and updating this web site. She can also take your concern and find you an answer for that problem.
